Radian is committed to going beyond current disability, gender and race equality legislation and in one integrated scheme, promote equality in these and the other areas of our remit - age, religion or belief and sexual orientation.

As a landlord, employer, local purchaser and service provider across our area of operation, we want to treat everyone equally. To help ensure that we meet this goal, we have an Equality and Diversity Working Group chaired by our Director.
The group produces an annual Action Plan. Progress against the targets in the Action Plan is reported twice yearly to our Board.
As a housing association working across a wide area, we are keen to reflect the make-up of the different communities we work for, and to encourage them to take part in all our activities.
We try to ensure that all groups are fairly represented in our homes and our workforce (including contractors) as well as on our Board.
Our Board Members
We aim to recruit at least 5% of our Board members from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities and at least 40% women.
A responsible employer and purchaser
All new staff and board members receive corporate diversity training.
We try to ensure that regeneration and development contractors employ people who live locally and reflect the local population.
We continue to encourage BME-owned or managed contractors to submit proposals for work that we commission.
Using the 2001 Census, we set a target of employing 4.4% of staff at all levels from BME communities.
We aim to recruit equal numbers of men and women. We work to the requirements of the 'positive about disability' standard of the Employment Service.
Disabled adaptations
You might need adaptations to your home so that you can go on living there. Each year we set aside an amount of money for work such as providing grab rails or a stair lift. Because the money is limited, we usually allocate it on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see here for more details.
