Introducing The Ladder
Until now, Swaythling Housing Society residents have received Swaythlink, our quarterly magazine. However, research shows that it does not fully meet the needs of our Shared Owners and Equity Loan Holders.
That's because they have particular questions, interests and issues around their tenure that do not apply to general needs. So from April 2010, they are going to have their own twice yearly, eight page magazine called The Ladder.
It's a joint production between Home Ownership and Swaythling Community Involvement. It will provide contact, information and support. It's also a way of managing expectations.
Articles will be around such topics as:
- Who we are and what we do
- Staircasing and downward staircasing
- Resales
- Finance – remortaging, redeeming equity loan, difficulty in paying rent/mortgage
- Home improvements
- Rents and service charges
- What Housing Officers do etc
- Getting involved and community development
The Ladder will go to all Radian Shared Owners and Equity Loan Holders. The majority are in Swaythling's area but there are also more than 700 Equity Loan Holders in the South West. There will be an Editorial Panel of staff and residents.
Staff producing The Ladder are Lynda Lines, Sales & Marketing Manager (Home Ownership) and Michael Luckie, Swaythlink's Editor, (Community Involvement).
